Check-in process
All new international F-1 or J-1 students, including transfers from another institution or students who have been in Reno on another visa status, must complete the check-in process. This process can be accessed through your in the Request & Document Center.
If you are a new international F-1 or J-1 visa student, including transfers from another institution or students who have been in Reno on another visa status and who did not pass both OISS , you must attend a check-in meeting in order to be cleared for class registration.
Scheduling your check-in meeting
Check-in meetings can be scheduled two weeks before the beginning of each semester. To schedule your check-in meeting, email oiss@unr.edu.
- Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Meeting length: Approximately 1.5 hours
- Location: Office of International Students and Scholars, Fitzgerald Student Services Building, Room 120
Documents that will be needed to complete your check-in process
You should bring your immigration documents to the check-in meeting, including the following:
- Passport
- Visa
- Form I-20 or DS-2019
- Form I-94
