Faculty in the Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Science are examining how climate change and land management will affect future fire activity and how fires can in turn influence plant, soil, and hydrologic processes. This involves a range of tools, including field and laboratory studies, remote sensing and process-based modeling. Faculty in fire ecology span many areas of expertise, including ecology, hydrology, biogeochemistry and land management.
